BRUNSWICK, Maine — A driver was brought to the hospital following a crash on Route 1 in Brunswick Monday morning.
Brunswick first responders were called to the crash that happened just after 10:30 a.m. on Route 1 northbound near the West Bath town line, according to a news release from the Brunswick Police Department.
An initial investigation revealed 26-year-old Michael Herrick of South Portland was driving north when the vehicle left the roadway, striking a rock embankment and rolling several times. The vehicle came to rest upside-down in a ditch, police said.
Herrick was extricated by Brunswick Fire Department personnel and was brought to Maine Medical Center by LifeFlight with serious injuries determined not to be life-threatening.
He was the only person in the vehicle.
