Takeaway delivery company Deliveroo has renewed its strategic partnership with FoodCloud, the food waste social enterprise.
As part of the deal, Deliveroo users will be able to add a round up donation to their in-app orders.
In addition, Deliveroo will contribute directly to FoodCloud’s innovative Growers Project, which is aimed at reducing farm-level food waste and providing nutritious produce to the community partners FoodCloud supports all over Ireland.
The Growers Project seeks to establish a national programme for the redistribution of surplus food from Irish growers that would otherwise go unharvested or be sent for animal feed.
Through this partnership, Deliveroo will support FoodCloud’s target of redistributing 60 tonnes of fresh produce, avoiding approximately 192,000 kgs of CO2 equivalent emissions and providing over 140,000 meals to communities across Ireland in 2024.
