Maumee bar continues tradition as hub for Buckeye football [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – The Buckeyes coming off of a big win against Oregon in Wednesday’s Rose Bowl.

Buckeye fans flocked to local bars across northwest Ohio to watch. One spot in Maumee, Dales Bar & Grill, has created quite the community for Ohio State fans.

“It’s so much more fun to share a Buckeye game with Buckeye fans,” Debbie Haugabook said.

Kane Anderson is the owner of Dales, he said his dad started the Ohio State theme during the 37 years he owned it before Kane took over. They’re both Ohio State Alumni, carrying on the tradition of cheering on the Scarlet and Grey.

“The thing you miss most about college is hanging out with all your friends on game day, so that’s pretty much what this is,” Anderson said.

Anderson said they typically get big crowds for Buckeye game days, bringing in a lot of business.
