Arrest made in murder of man found on side of road in Toledo [Video]

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A man has been arrested for the murder of a man who was found on the side of the road.

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office said 42-year-old Sherman Ryan died of blunt force injuries on Dec. 24, two days after he was found on the side of the road suffering from injuries from a “reported altercation.”

According to a press release from the Toledo Police Department, detectives investigated the murder and on Dec. 27 arrested James Friess, 42.

According to the press release, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Caledonia on Dec. 22 for a disorder. Shortly after that, officers were sent to the 800 block of Oak regarding a person down. When officers arrived on Oak, they found Ryan who appeared to have been assaulted and transported him to a nearby hospital.
