Old Jacksonville Elementary School to be demolished [Video]

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — As we close out 2024, we want revisit a story we first shared at the beginning of the year. 

Many people living in Jacksonville have expressed concerns about the old Jacksonville Elementary School being an eyesore in the community.

Now the city is pleased to share that new progress is being made.

“I said a few months ago that I would have it done by the end of the year, and due to our employees being able to do it, we’ve done it,” Mayor Jeff Elmore said.

Mayor Elmore imposed a self-deadline to have the old elementary school demolished by the end of the year, and he has succeeded.
