In Fairbanks, the “Polar Express” bus delivered holiday cheer to nearly 40 Alaskans who had recently lost a loved one.
The Polar Express-themed bus whisked families away to a secret North Pole location, where Santa—and even the Grinch—were waiting to greet them. This heartwarming gathering was organized by Lizzie Hartman, a Fairbanks resident you might recognize from her time on Fox’s Master Chef.
For Lizzie, this event was deeply personal. Her husband, Blaine, was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash this past July. Despite her own grief, Lizzie wanted to create a moment of joy and connection for others navigating their own losses during the holidays.
