CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Falfurrias is expecting to build an urgent care facility in their downtown area to help with the growing need of healthcare in Brooks County.
Falfurrias Public Information Officer Roman Rodriguez said the community has already voiced their support for the center.
“They want an urgent care facility, it’s something the city doesn’t have and we need it,” he said.
Rodriguez said that in Brooks County, residents tend to drive longer distances to get the care they need.
“For example, somebody has a cardiac episode, they’ll be able to help them here,” he said.
Mike Vickers works at the Las Palmas Veterinary Hospital. He said that at his seasoned age, he’s had to get treatment for himself.
