The City of Orlando apologized on social media for the “technical difficulties” during the show.
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating after several drones crashed and fell onto a crowd Saturday night during a holiday drone show over Lake Eola in Orlando.
One person was taken to the hospital after the incident, NBC affiliate WESH 2 News reported.
Adriana Edgerton told Wesh 2 News her family was watching the drone show when several drones fell from the sky and one hit her son in the chest and lip.
Video of the incident shows hundreds of drones lighting the sky in green and red when multiple drones appear to move out of sync with the others.
“Everyone’s natural instinct was to duck and scatter, and before we realized it my daughter found my son on the floor unconscious. He had blood coming out of his face,” Edgerton told Wesh 2 News.
Edgerton said her son is now undergoing open-heart surgery.
