EAGLE, Idaho — The sprawling community of Avimor is about to get a lot bigger.
City of Eagle councilmembers unanimously passed an application in December approving nearly 2,500 homes and 660,000 square feet of commercial space. The decision comes nearly two years after the city annexed the controversial development in Spring of 2023.
“We’re exciting about it, and we’ve done a lot of planning,” General Manager Brad Pfannmuller said. “This is the biggest update since annexation. It allows us to put the zoning on the individual lots, whereas the 20,000 acres that got annexed into the City of Eagle only has a general zoning on it.”
Avimor will build the homes just north of existing development, where about 850 homes currently stand. At full build out, which is expected to take decades, Pfannmuller said the community will have nearly 10,000 homes.
