Community rallies behind MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins amid controversy. [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Lift, a group dedicated to educating and providing resources to parents, hosted a press conference this afternoon supporting MSCS Superintendent Dr. Marie Feagins. 

Teachers, parents, and representatives of Memphis Lift all expressed their support for Dr. Feagins during this conference following a narrow vote to delay her potential contract termination. 

Spanish teacher Noah Nordstrom remarked that Dr. Feagins has done the best job for students and faculty since he joined the school district last year.

“She came in and immediately started making changes, and we’re seeing the results,” she said. “My school alone went up an entire letter grade, almost two letter grades already under her leadership, and it’s only been eight months.”
