‘Aidan’s Lights’ project aims to bring lights to Pen Park [Video]

As the Charlottesville community mourned the passing of 18-year-old Aidan Peters, it began building the foundation of his posthumous legacy.

The organization of his memorial service re-ignited an idea that had been discussed during Aidan’s life, and even before it.

“The guy there asked, ‘Are there any charities you would like people to donate to in lieu of flowers?’” Aidan’s father, Adam Peters, said. “The first thing that popped into my head was, ‘Why don’t we start a fund to put lights in the field at Pen Park?’ It’s something that Central Little League has wanted since long before we were there.”

The fundraising eventually became a project that undertook the moniker of “Aidan’s Lights,” as the CHS graduate was interested in using his notoriety to help the cause at the park he grew up playing baseball in.
