Fremont Police report fire fatality [Video]

FREMONT, Neb. (WOWT) – Several agencies are investigating a fire that left one person dead in Fremont on Thursday morning.

The Dodge County Sheriff and Nebraska State Fire Marshal are assisting Fremont Police with an investigation into a residential fire near Military and Platte avenues.

FPD said they were called to the scene at 7:42 a.m. Thursday.

The incident impacted traffic in the area for a couple hours on Thursday morning. At about 9 a.m., police posted on social media asking drivers to avoid the area, giving the “all clear” about two hours later.

FPD did not release the name of the person who died, saying the investigation is still in progress.
