Lego received its name in 1932, inspired by the Danish phrase “leg godt” — roughly translating to “play well.”
Over 90 years later, Lego figurines can “play well” enough to smash candy canes with pickaxes, build golden Christmas trees and scale arctic glaciers in a Lego and Fortnite Creative holiday game collaboration.
Lego collaborated with two gaming influencers to create Candy Cane Heroes, a holiday-themed FortniteCreative “map” with Lego components — including a Lego log cabin, holiday presents and decorated Christmas trees. For those new to Fortnite, maps are game designs with customized visual features, challenges and experiences.
The Candy Cane Heroes map was designed by JOGO, a game development studio founded by gaming influencers Andre Rebelo and Chad Mustard, known for their respective YouTube gaming accounts Typical Gamer and Mustard Plays. The map took over 100 hours to create, Mustard said.
