The French Quarter trash dispute continues this week after a judge ruled that the original bid should be awarded to a New Orleans businessman Monday. Judge Paulette Irons ordered the New Orleans City Council to vote on whether Troy Henry should be awarded the contract.Henry’s contract was up in the air while his company Henry Consulting is in a legal fight with the original subcontractor Richards Disposal. The original contract was awarded by the Cantrell administration but needs Council approval, which never happened as the council had questions about Henry switching subcontractors. The council is planning on appealing the decision and believes Judge Irons overstepped her authority by ordering the council to take any action on the matter.
