Local artists have until noon on Monday, December 16 to apply.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — Time is running out for local artists to apply for Erie County’s new public art fund, as leaders look to support and promote projects at some popular destinations.
The deadline to apply for the ‘Arts in Public Places’ project is noon on Monday, December 16.
According to the county, potential locations for the artwork include: Seneca Bluffs Natural Habitat Park, Como Lake Park, Ellicott Creek Park, Erie County Health Mall, and the Buffalo Convention Center.
Each proposal should include either community engagement or promote cultural awareness.
“Art beautifies our community in many ways and shows that we care about the place we live in, transforming regular spaces into artistic creations that spur conversations and enrich our lives,” wrote Deputy County Executive Lisa M. Chimera in a statement to 2 On Your Side.
