Woman hurt after being shot and stabbed, man falls to his death in Atlanta [Video]

ATLANTA — A woman is in critical condition, and a man is dead after an incident at a Downtown Atlanta high-rise on Friday afternoon, police said.

Atlanta Police said officers responded to 250 Piedmont Ave. NE, the location of a high-rise building near an apartment complex and the Hilton Atlanta hotel.

They found a man who had fallen to his death from the window of the high-rise building. Inside the apartment unit, officers found a woman who had been both shot and stabbed. She was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Atlanta Police.

APD said the incidents are likely related, and the fall may have been self-inflicted, indicating the man may have jumped to his death.

The area of Piedmont Avenue is near John Portman Boulevard NE and Baker Street NE.
