Curtin’s turf and irrigation team consists of Rick Hortin and Laurie Della-Franca. The Public Places Irrigation Team work in the background to ensure students, staff and the wider community can continue to enjoy the beautiful gardens, lawns and sports fields that make up the Curtin Perth campus. They go above and beyond the role of a typical operations team, driving the strategic direction of the campus wide infrastructure, liaising with government authorities and ensuring that Curtin is at the leading edge of ground water management.

The Irrigation team, having recognised the risk to the lush green spaces and sports fields we enjoy on campus, have been dedicated to finding management solutions and technologies which help them to continue delivering such an important community asset. Rick and Laurie are an Operational Team who have taken on strategic planning and infrastructure management roles and have therefore positioned Curtin to be a leader in Waterwise Universities.
