Grace Place Ministries gives to children in need for Christmas [Video]

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Grace Place Ministries will be hosting an outreach initiative to give back to children in need on Saturday, Dec. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The local faith-based, nonprofit organization has been supporting those facing homelessness in Northeast Louisiana for 22 years, serving around 300 people every week.

Grace Place Ministries were able to give 712 children gifts in 2023 during their Christmas Child Outreach Program. They hope to reach the same goal in 2024.

Community members are encouraged to bring gift bags with items like blankets, stuffed animals, winter caps, coloring books, small toys and sweet treats.

A supervisor at Grace Place Ministries, Karen Callegan says they are also trying to provide those facing homelessness with winter clothing. She says the ministry is in need of coats, blankets, gloves, caps and jeans for men.
