BUFFALO, N.Y. — A new community market has opened at 2201 N. Fillmore Ave. at the corner of Jewett Avenue, on Buffalo’s East Side. The new place is offering fresh produce and educational opportunities to residents.
Truly Rooted Community Market, an extension of the family-owned nonprofit Rooted in Love, opened its doors on Nov. 9. The market was founded to provide affordable, fresh produce to a community often lacking access.
“Truly rooted. It came about because through research and talking with some of our clients, they asked a market, and then people were, you know, we want fresh produce. You know, in the community. We don’t have that access and it’s affordable,” said Rooted in Love, Inc. Program Director, Tandra Parker.
