(Gray News) – Authorities are reportedly upset by the public sympathy and attention that Luigi Mangione, the accused UnitedHealthcare CEO killer, is receiving on social media.
On Monday night, police charged the 26-year-old with murder and other felonies in connection with the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Thompson was shot and killed on Dec 4., in a “brazen, targeted attack” as he walked toward the hotel hosting the company’s annual investor conference, CNN reported.
Despite the crime Mangione is accused of committing, he is being treated as a hero by some on social media.
