The Club for Boys hosting 42nd annual Christmas tree sale [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – The Club for Boys, a Rapid City-based youth development non-profit organization, is hosting their 42nd annual Christmas tree project.

“This is one of our biggest fundraisers every year, and it’s more than that,” Assistant Executive Director Mark Kline said. “It’s a ‘friendraiser;’ it’s a job skills training program.”

Boys who are part of the organization have the opportunity to work the tree sale, gaining valuable professional experience at a young age and making some money ahead of Christmas.

“Besides the customer service, our kids have to become knowledgeable about the types of Christmas trees, and they have to ask their customers questions to find out what kind of tree they want, to get them the best tree,” Kline explained. “In addition to that, we also have to load the trees, we have to keep the lot clean and stocked.
