Ontario house fire displaces 9, including some children [Video]

ONTARIO, Ore. — A house fire early Sunday morning left nine people, including children, without a home after flames tore through the northeast corner of the building and spread to the attic, according to a press release from Ontario Fire and Rescue.

Ontario Fire and Rescue responded to the blaze at 707 NW 4th Street around midnight, with multiple agencies rushing to fight the extensive fire, the release stated. Initial crews from Rescue One arrived to find heavy flames pouring out of the home and quickly set up a water supply from a nearby hydrant.

Ontario Police Department confirmed all occupants had safely gotten out before firefighters began an aggressive attack inside. As flames spread to the attic, crews switched to a defensive strategy, using Tower 199 and backup from Fruitland and Payette Fire Departments, the press …
