Minnesota Department of Transportation holds open house to discuss State Rail Plan | News [Video]

ROCHESTER, Minn.- The Minnesota Department of Transportation held an open house to go over the next 20 years of the Minnesota State Rail Plan on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Rochester Public Library.

The open house was the second of 4 scheduled throughout the state in Duluth, Moorehead and St. Paul to talk with residents about their thoughts on what’s working and what could be improved about existing rail infrastructure.

According to JP Gillach, media relations for the event, the purpose of the open house was to get feedback of any kind, whether it was how trains are affecting traffic, the demand for new passenger rail to cover southeast Minnesota, or anything else attendees thought they needed to know.
