A photograph shared on social media in September 2024 allegedly showed French union workers walking through the streets alongside a barbecue fitted to tram tracks during a protest march.

According to one X post, the contraption had been designed to allow demonstrators to “grill sausages while they march.”

The picture was posted elsewhere on X alongside another similar photo in January 2023. One such post had amassed more than 7.5 million views as of this writing.

Origin of Photo

A reverse image search led to a November 2018 article on a blog called Euro Gunzel. That site is run by a self-described “Australian railfan” named Marcus Wong, who said the photo was originally shared (archived) to X on May 15, 2018, by a user called @DelegueLata.
