Flint salon brings a special group of kids some holiday cheer | Local [Video]

FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) – More than a dozen kids from Whaley Children’s Center got the chance to enjoy a day out at the spa!

Escape Salon donated their time and services to the children, including hair services and mini facials.

Whaley Children’s Center is a Flint non-profit that cares for at-risk foster children.

Ashleigh Sanders, Whaley’s director of community development, says a spa day would be a big morale boost for anyone, especially these kids.

“Their faces were lighting up just walking in here,” said Sanders. “They knew what they were coming to the salon for, they were super excited. The holidays can be hard for kids in foster care, so giving them something like this, something to look forward to just really means a lot.”
