Nekoosa home spreads holiday cheer for child battling cancer [Video]

WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – A home at 300 Peckham Road in Nekoosa is lighting up the whole block. With everything from an angel, to Baby Yoda, to Stitch, what may seem like random holiday decorations all have one very important thing in common. They are paying for cancer treatments for a young boy.

Through the brutal winds and falling snow, the spirit of giving is keeping the Nekoosa community warm.

“It’s just nice to know there are good people out there who will support you when life kind of throws some lemons at you,” Kristi Skelton, mother of nine-year-old Braxton who’s battling cancer, said.

Seven months ago, the two received news that changed everything.

“April 5th was just another normal day for a local Wisconsin family until nine-year-old Braxton Skelton told his mother, Kristi, that he was not feeling well,” Braxton said as he read his story as it’s posted …
