EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The smell of turkey and stuffing filled the air Thursday as Sauced in Haynie’s Corner hosted its annual Community Thanksgiving Feast. The event offered a free holiday meal to anyone looking for food or fellowship.
“What we really are enjoying is, uh, prices are going up at the grocery store, uhm, and we have great partners here that have donated their time and effort and product to feed everybody,” said Scott Schymik, owner of Sauced. “Anybody can come in today, it doesn’t matter who you are, what you do. We just offer a free Thanksgiving, so hopefully people will take advantage of it, and it looks like today they’re taking advantage of it, and we’re probably going to run out of food.”
