Community volunteers, nonprofits and elected officials teamed up to serve a warm meal and warm clothes to hundreds of families on Milwaukee’s northside.The 6th Annual Breaking Bread Community Thanksgiving Feast is hosted by Dream Team United WI and Embassy Center MKE.Dozens of volunteers gave up their holiday to give back to hundreds of people.Michelle Bates said she came out with her grandkids “to celebrate Thanksgiving.”The menu of hot food included all of the Thanksgiving classics..two different types of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn and more.Those who came out didn’t just leave with a Thanksgiving meal; they were also able to stuff boxes full of groceries to take home.”To stand in line in November, close to December, you’ve got to be hungry.
