OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A new free family holiday attraction is almost up and running in West Omaha.
Wednesday was a closed session to test the new ice at the Heartwood Preserve in West Omaha, a development by Applied Underwriters just south of 144th and West Dodge Road.
But on Friday, it opens up to the people.
“Omaha has been extraordinarily nice to Applied Underwriters, so we felt we had to give back to the community,” said Jeff Silver, the Executive Vice President of Applied Underwriters. “We’ve had a number of a events here during the summer and we thought bringing in an ice skating rink would just be wonderful for the community and an example of us giving back.”
The ice rink is part of the new Winterland at Heartwood, which will host several events throughout the holiday season, such as Live DJ Fridays, Community Stage Saturdays, Giving Tuesdays, and Sundays with Santa.
