SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane hockey community is coming together to support the Carollo family after a car accident. Amanda, Patrick and Amelia Carollo were on their way to a hockey tournament when they were hit head-on by another car. Amelia did not survive.
“It was a tragic and unimaginable deal and we are just so sorry for their loss,” Luke Damskov, President of the Spokane Junior Chiefs said.
In response, the Spokane Junior Chiefs are honoring the family by wearing the number one and the Carollo last name on their helmets. The Cranbrook Bucks joined the Spokane Junior A Chiefs for a moment of silence before their game on Monday to pay their respects.
“It doesn’t matter what jersey you wear. When you’re on the ice you’re competing when you’re off the ice, we’re hockey players. We are a family and community and we stick together,” Damskov said.
