BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – In June, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a grant from the Kentucky Association of Counties to purchase a virtual reality training system, The WRAP Reality VR Trainer.
The purchase was made possible by a partnership with the sheriff’s office and Warren County Regional Jail.
Incoming recruits have had the opportunity to start training on the device. They are beginning to see the benefits firsthand of what this fully immersive training system has to offer.
“When I got into law enforcement you didn’t have these types of opportunities where you had the ability to go back and watch yourself, talk about it, and reframe how you approach the scenario,” said Warren County Sheriff, Brett Hightower.
The training system combines the virtual reality capabilities of the HTC Vive with a software system specifically designed with training law enforcement in mind.
