CLINTON, N.Y. — The Clinton Symphony Orchestra of the Mohawk Valley, in collaboration with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, hosted an educational youth concert.
The performance took place on Tuesday morning for local third and fourth graders at the Clinton Performing Arts Facility located at the Clinton Central School District.
This year’s concert theme is “Space: The Final Frontier,” and it features Gustav Holst’s The Planets.
For many of the children in attendance, this marked their very first experience attending a live orchestra performance.
“They’re the most open to learning new things,” Glen Cortese, artistic director of the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, said of the concert at Clinton. “And they’re interested in just about everything at that age, before they completely bury themselves in their phones and iPads. So, we’re hoping that if we catch them now, we’ll be able to give them something special that they’ll be able to remember.”
