WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The City of Warner Robins says they have selected the location for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
In a press release, the memorial will be located near the Watson Boulevard and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Parkway intersection, but they say the specific details will be released in the coming months, according to the City of Warner Robins.
The efforts to build a memorial for Vietnam veterans have stalled for years, a project which the city says dates back to 2011.
After years of advocacy, the city announced on Veterans Day that they had secured 5 acres of land for the memorial.
They say that after two unsuccessful efforts to secure land, Vietnam veteran Michael Driggers donated land to the city, which allowed them to move forward.
