GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WFSB) – As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, Connecticut Foodshare continues its mission of supporting families in need across the state.
The nonprofit organization has been collecting turkeys and other food donations at various events, and today, the community came together in Glastonbury to contribute to the cause.
At First Church on Main Street, local residents dropped off frozen turkeys, canned goods, and other essentials, continuing a cherished tradition of giving back.
The donations will be distributed later this week, just in time for Thanksgiving, ensuring that families in need can enjoy a holiday meal.
Nicole Struth, Director of Mission, Justice, and Membership at First Church, emphasized the spirit of the season.
“This season is the spirit of giving, and we’re so happy to be here to experience that with everybody here,” she said.
