ODESSA, Texas — Monica McDaniel, the director of communications with the City of Odessa, provided an update on the city’s network issues Thursday night.
McDaniel said the city’s IT team and cybersecurity specialists have been actively working on the “vulnerabilities in our system.”
According to McDaniel, “a malicious script was identified and removed” and additional time is needed to complete a “full system scrub.”
McDaniel said the tentative timeline for reactivating the system will be midday Friday.
