COWETA, Okla. — Some Coweta and Broken Arrow homeowners said they’re confused by letters they received in the mail about the City of Coweta annexing land.
The City of Coweta informed people who live near the city about the new neighborhood developers hope to build.
“We had an application come in from an applicant and the way the process works here in Coweta is they have to write a letter requesting annexation into the City of Coweta,” said Carolyn Back, Community Economic Development Director for Coweta.
The land south of 241st East Avenue, also known as Oneta Road, and south of East 111th Street is up for annexation.
The letter that was sent to homeowners who live near the land stated that several landowners are requesting 200 acres of their vacant land be annexed into the City of Coweta.
