New Duval County board members were sworn in on Tuesday. While the new board received support from community members, some school advocates raised some concerns.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Three new Duval County school board members have now officially taken their seats on the board after being sworn in Tuesday.
Cheers echoed throughout the room and American flags waved high, as Tony Ricardo, Reginald Blount and Melody Bolduc were sworn into their newly appointed school board seats.
Incumbent Cindy Pearson was also sworn in as a board member for District 3.
The same sentiments were shown for board members Charlotte Joyce (District 6) and April Carney (District 2) after a 6 – 1 vote passed, electing Joyce as the new chairman and Carney the vice-chairman.
