Thousands of homes coming to Kyle, Texas, as population booms [Video]

KYLE, Texas — Kyle is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.

With plans for a new hospital, convention center and thousands of homes, Kyle is only expected to get a lot busier.

Kyle has grown from a population of 5,000 in 2000 to more than 58,000 people today. That includes a 9% growth in just the last year.

“Everything we are doing to plan so we can build a better community for our residents,” said Victoria Vargas, Kyle’s economic development director.

The biggest plans are in what’s called the Lake Park District, which will include 2,000 new housing units. Vargas said it will be multifamily units spread throughout the development.
