Easley, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The City of Easley is discussing plans to extend the moratorium on new developments that was implemented over the summer.
On Monday night, Easley City Council will discuss suspending the acceptance of new zoning approvals, development, construction permits and other action for six more months.
Officials said they need more time to review any potential pitfalls in the city’s zoning ordinance and land development regulations as they consider how they want the community to grow.
Easley Mayor Lisa Talbert said a wave of development from 2020 to 2023 led to the approval of more than 22,000 new residential units.
