WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — From live music at the community stage to embracing life-long friends, tender moments make Winston-Salem State University’s homecoming special.
It’s also why alumni like Rose Lindsey return to campus. She hasn’t missed a homecoming since 1982.
“You ever heard the term ‘Ramily’? If you take Ram and family and put it together, that’s who we are. We’re Ramily. We’re more than just that. We’re culture. That’s what brings us back,” Lindsey said.
This year, Lindsey rolled up to homecoming with ladies that she met at the first one she ever attended. Every time they reconnect, she realizes how much time has passed.
“Worked with one of them. We identify with one another even in our corporate atmosphere. We take that into the corporate world and everywhere we go … It’s more than a friendship. It’s a sisterhood,” Lindsey said.
