WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAW) – While you are out buying winter boots before the snow flies, maybe keep in mind buying an extra pair or donating your old ones to keep others in the community warm.
United Way of Marathon County is known for helping out the community year-round. Now, they need your help as the temps continue to drop.
“We have about 500 visitors a month, and with the cold weather hitting we really need things like boots, snow pants, jackets, mittens, hats, all of the outdoor winter gear,” said Amanda Flannery, the director of resource development at United Way Marathon County.
Flannery says they are always taking donations for all ages and sizes, but what they really need right now is shoes.
