HONOLULU (Island News) — In September 2024, Island News’ Good Morning Hawai’i Anchor, Lia Kamanā, traveled to South Korea for the 2024 Korea-U.S. Journalists Exchange.

Kamanā was one of six U.S. journalists chosen for the program, launched by the East-West Center in 2005, and co-sponsored by the Korea Press Foundation and Pacific Century Institute.

The program looks to increase public understanding of the two countries and their relationship. The theme for 2024, “Balancing …
