COZAD, Neb. (KNOP) – A vehicle crashed into a Burger King in Cozad on Thursday, injuring seven people and leaving a large hole in the building’s south side.
Cozad Fire and Rescue Chief Brian Woldt said the fire and police department responded to the restaurant at around 1:24 p.m..
When they arrived they found the driver of a passenger bus had crashed into the building. The Gothenburg fire department was called to assist.
Six passengers, including the bus driver and one person inside the restaurant were injured.
Five people were transported to Cozad Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Two passengers were transported to Gothenburg Health with non-life threatening injuries.
A tow truck was also called to the scene.
The cause of the crash and the owner of the bus has not been released. The Cozad Police Department is still investigating.
