AI training for Government workers major part of smart tech plan amid ‘clear economic opportunities’ despite job fears [Video]

WORKERS across all grades of the civil service will receive training in artificial intelligence, the Government has revealed.

The AI industry has boomed since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022.

And the Government today published its new plan to make Ireland a key play in the smart tech.

The National AI Strategy Refresh was signed off by Cabinet this week and aims to promote the use of AI in Ireland and to create jobs in the industry here.

A key part of this plan is to use AI in the civil service to improve public services for people.

Some 500 senior civil servants have already received training in how they can use AI responsibly and safely in their job.
