HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Some voters rewarded themselves with a sweet treat after casting their ballot Tuesday.

Girl Scout troops were selling cookies at polling locations across the state. Loitering, peddling or advertising to another person is prohibited within 75 feet of a polling place in Connecticut — but scout troop cookie sales are allowed.
“I’m really excited, because this is my first time selling Girl Scout cookies,” Girl Scout Evanie Dingle said.
Dingle is part of the troop in Hartford that sold cookies to voters outside of the YWCA polling place on Broad Street.
“Cookies are sweet with a lot of sugar and cookies with sugar riles up your mood,” said Summer Dingle, another Girl Scout.
These girls are not old enough to vote just yet, but they know it’s an important decision to make.
