MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – The fifth suspect wanted in the murder of 9-year-old Cailee Knight has been booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail.
Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood confirmed to FOX10 News that the fifth suspect, a 17-year-old girl, was extradited from Texas.
According to jail records, the teen is charged with two counts of capital murder, attempted murder, and discharging a gun into a building.
Last month during a press conference, Blackwood didn’t say what role the 17-year-old played in the shooting, but that she was an accessory to murder.
“As the investigation unfolded, revealed that they had a role, as in aiding and abetting. Aider and abettor, in the case,” Blackwood said. “They were there to support what was going on and we believe knew what was going on.”
Last December, Cailee was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting while sleeping on her couch on Rhett Drive.
