Everyone’s buzzing about it.
There’s a giant pole standing on a hilltop above Highway 54, between Eldon and Lake Ozark. And it just keeps getting taller. With the addition of its final piece, the flagpole now stands at 242 feet.
Midwest Roofing co-owner Josiah Mote explained the flagpole started off as a “what-if” idea for their new headquarters: a property that had for years held a run-down building in a high-visibility location on Highway 54 that Midwest snatched-up this year. “It just kept getting bigger,” he laughed, and soon the flagpole project was in motion. It’s been a massive undertaking; they’ve even had to work with the Federal Aviation Administration to get aircraft alert lighting installed on the pole.
Once the U.S. flag is raised on it next month, Midwest Roofing will boast the second-tallest flagpole in the nation. And the company is planning to make the flag-raising event a can’t-miss community celebration.
