OZARKN, Ala. (WTVY) – The city of Ozark was designated an ‘Alabama Community of Excellence.’
The designation recognizes Alabama cities working to improve in several areas.
From economic development and healthcare to youth leadership and recreation, the city came up with a strategic plan to grow.
The city completed the designation with help from ACE leaders.
Economic development director Holle Smith said this designation is a step towards a better future for the city.
“We want more people to realize their work and their interest can be valuable, especially the younger generation. Also to let the community know that their city council and city leaders are always looking for ways to better the community,“ Smith said.
Eufaula, Elba, Geneva, and Headland have also completed this designation.
