It’s National First Responders Day, and a Lancaster Township volunteer firefighter is being recognized with a national award for her actions that ultimately saved a 9-year-old girl’s life.
The First Responders Children’s Foundation will present firefighter Katie Remely with a Community Hero Award during a ceremony at Times Square in New York City this morning. The organization supports children who have lost a parent working as a first responder.
