New Mexicos Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Task Force holds first meeting [Video]

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Members of the community poured their hearts out on Friday morning at the inaugural meeting of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Task Force as a massive number of families continue to struggle with their loved one’s unsolved cases. “My brother went missing out of Albuquerque. His case was transferred between Albuquerque, Navajo Nation, San Juan County, and Grants. So who do I trust?” asked a speaker at the event.

Earlier this year, New Mexico legislators called on Attorney General Raul Torrez to create the group made up of state officials, law enforcement, tribal representatives, survivors, and more. The next meeting of the task force is in December.
